House of Cheviot Shooting Socks

House of Cheviot brand logo

House of Cheviot was founded in 2002. It was created by Mr. James Wright, an entrepreneur from Yorkshire with a passion for the textile industry. Its name comes from the Cheviot Hills, located between England and Scotland. The Cheviot Hills lie between Mr. James Wright's home in Ilkley and the manufacturing plant in Hawick, hence the reference.

Hawick is in the heart of the "home of cashmere." The textile industry began in the region in 1771 when the first knitting machine arrived. Ever since, House of Cheviot has utilized a local workforce whose expertise has been refined over decades.

Today, House of Cheviot employs twenty staff members. All are driven by a passion for fine materials. The entire manufacturing process is carried out in the factory, from the initial concept to production. It is purely "Made in Scotland."

Behind the word sock lies a highly technical design. It is an illusion to think that making a sock is a simple operation. At House of Cheviot, each pair passes through a dozen hands, from yarn selection to packaging, including knitting and hand-linking... At the end of this chain, 60,000 pairs of socks are produced annually.

Magnificent quality cashmere yarn from the Mongolian highlands (goats must live at an altitude of at least 2,000 meters), Australian merino wool spun in Italy... Nothing is too good to offer House of Cheviot customers the very best in socks.

Why wear socks and garters for shooting?

Shooting is one of House of Cheviot's preferred playgrounds. At TweedChasse, we offer more than 70 House of Cheviot sock options for men and women. Spoilt for choice! Added to the sock is an essential accessory: the garter. This tightening strap is not just a simple aesthetic element, as its tassel might suggest, but a very effective way to prevent the sock from slipping.

House of Cheviot socks + garters: the useful and elegant combination for the TweedChasse shooter!
