TweedChasse: Our Story, Tweed, and Hunting

Who is TweedChasse?

Julien Vion, founder of the TweedChasse boutique

Created in 2011 by Julien Vion, an agricultural engineer by training and a hunting enthusiast, the company was born out of a simple desire: to offer elegant, durable, and functional clothing in France, inspired by the British world of hunting and the countryside.

Behind TweedChasse lies, above all, a personal story. That of someone passionate about hunting, nature, and fine fabrics, who discovered tweed in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.

A passion born in Scotland

As the son and grandson of hunters, I have always moved in this world.

In 2004, while I was still in engineering school, I was fortunate enough to complete a ten-month internship in Scotland, in the Highlands, north of Inverness, in a small village called Rogart.

During this period, I worked as a hunting guide, accompanying hunters across vast estates to discover these exceptional landscapes. I found there what I was looking for: wide-open spaces, unspoiled nature, and that very special atmosphere of the Highlands, between heather moors, mountains, and lochs.

It was also there that I discovered tweed.

Why tweed captured my heart

In Scotland, tweed is not just a fabric. It is part of the local landscape and clothing culture.

I was immediately drawn to its natural elegance, warmth, comfort, and durability. In the Highlands, tweed garments are perfectly suited for outdoor life and the sometimes harsh conditions of the Scottish countryside.

For me, it was love at first sight.

A few years later, this discovery would become the starting point for TweedChasse.

How did TweedChasse come to be?

Upon returning to France, I noticed that the selection of tweed and elegant hunting clothing was relatively limited. Fine pieces were rare, often offered at high prices, and the quality did not always meet my expectations.

After my studies, in 2007, I became an agricultural engineer. But the idea of starting my own business continued to grow.

In September 2011, I finally took the leap into entrepreneurship.

The idea was simple: to sell the clothes I wanted to wear myself, by going across the Channel to find British and Anglo-Saxon brands renowned for their craftsmanship.

TweedChasse was born.

Reference brands for tweed and country style

From its inception, TweedChasse was built around a selection of houses specializing in tweed, hunting, and country style.

Among the first brands distributed were Alan Paine and House of Cheviot, later joined by Barbour, Chrysalis, then Ridgeline of New Zealand, Laksen Sporting, and other recognized houses.

Our approach has never been to multiply brands simply to offer an ever-larger catalog. We seek above all products that align with our vision: elegant, comfortable, durable clothing that is truly suited to its intended use.

The goal is to allow French and Belgian enthusiasts to discover these houses and their craftsmanship, with service and information accessible in French.

TweedChasse today

Since its creation, TweedChasse has considerably expanded its range.

Today, our catalog brings together more than 1,800 items and over 45 brands in the world of hunting, tweed, country, and outdoor gear.

You will find, in particular:

- tweed jackets and hunting jackets;

- breeks and trousers;

- vests and quilted jackets;

- shirts and wool sweaters;

- waterproof jackets and technical clothing;

- caps and hats;

- boots and shoes;

- ties, belts, and accessories.

The TweedChasse range is aimed at men, women, and children, with a desire to offer a true country wardrobe for the whole family.

A presence at the heart of the hunting world

TweedChasse is also present at major French events dedicated to hunting and the rural world.

We participate notably in the Salon de la Chasse et de la Faune Sauvage in Mantes-la-Jolie as well as the Game Fair at Chambord.

These events are important to us because they allow us to meet our customers directly, showcase the clothing, gather their feedback, and continue to evolve our selection.

TweedChasse is therefore not just an online store: it is also a team and a community of enthusiasts.

Customers at the heart of the adventure

TweedChasse's greatest satisfaction remains that of our customers.

Our 9.7/10 rating on Avis Vérifiés testifies to the importance we place on product quality, advice, and service.

And then there is a little story that always makes me smile: I have even sold tweed to the English.

For a Frenchman who discovered tweed in Scotland and embarked on this adventure by importing British clothing, the irony is quite amusing!

Our philosophy: elegance, comfort, and functionality

From day one, our selection has been based on a few simple principles.

We look for clothing that combines elegance and functionality, suitable for wearing while hunting or in the countryside, but also in everyday life.

We favor quality materials, timeless cuts, and products designed to last. Tweed naturally holds a central place in this philosophy, but we also select technical garments capable of meeting the needs of hunters and outdoor activity enthusiasts.

It is this constant search for beautiful, comfortable, technical, and practical products that constitutes the TweedChasse ethic.

An adventure that continues

More than ten years after the creation of TweedChasse, the passion remains intact.

I am always on the lookout for new products, new houses, and new partnerships, with the same desire to introduce our customers to brands that deserve their place in the world of hunting and country style.

TweedChasse will thus continue to evolve, without losing what has made it who it is: a passion for hunting, tweed, fine materials, and clothing designed to accompany those who love to live outdoors.

Welcome to the world of TweedChasse.

Very sincerely,

Julien Vion
