House of Cheviot Shooting Socks
The House of Cheviot was founded in 2002 by Mr. James Wright, an entrepreneur from Yorkshire with a passion for the textile industry. Its name comes from the Cheviot Hills, located between England and Scotland. The Cheviot Hills are situated between Mr. James Wright's home in Ilkley and the manufacturing plant in Hawick, hence the reference.
Hawick is in the heart of "cashmere country." The textile industry began in the region in 1771 when the first knitting machine arrived. Since then, House of Cheviot has employed local workers whose expertise has been refined over decades.
Today, House of Cheviot employs twenty people. All are driven by a passion for fine materials. It is important to know that all manufacturing processes are carried out in the factory, from initial concept to production. It is pure "Made in Scotland."
Behind the word sock lies a highly technical design. It is an illusion to think that making a sock is a simple operation. At House of Cheviot, each pair passes through a dozen hands, from yarn selection to packaging, including machine work and hand-sewing. At the end of this chain, 60,000 pairs of socks are produced per year.
Cashmere yarn of magnificent quality from the high plateaus of Mongolia (goats must live at a minimum altitude of 2000 meters), Australian merino wool spun in Italy... Nothing is too good to offer House of Cheviot customers the best in socks.
Why wear socks and garters (flush) when hunting?
Hunting is one of House of Cheviot's playgrounds. At Tweedchasse, we offer more than 70 House of Cheviot sock references for men and women! You're spoiled for choice. In addition to the sock, there's an essential accessory: the garter. This tightening strap is not just an aesthetic object, as its pompom might lead us to believe, but a very effective way to prevent the sock from slipping.
