How to maintain your Ridgeline?
CARE OF RIDGELINE WATERPROOF CLOTHING
Dirt and grime will affect the performance of Ridgeline waterproof clothing, so it is essential to keep the garments clean to maintain their effectiveness. All waterproof clothing contains a membrane that makes the garment waterproof and breathable. This membrane can be damaged and will stop working properly if the garment is not cared for correctly and according to the care instructions, which are normally found in the collar of the garment. The Grangers range, specialized in this area, can be found on the site to give your Ridgeline a new lease of life, with products to clean and restore the water-repellent effect to your aging Ridgeline.
AVOID USING THE FOLLOWING CLEANING PRODUCTS:
Ordinary detergent
Detergents containing fabric softener
Fabric conditioner
Bleach
We recommend using a specialized cleaning product, specifically developed for washing garments that contain a membrane. These are available on the site, the Grangers range, and you will find instructions for using the product on each product sheet. Like most Ridgeline garments, the seams are sealed to ensure that the garments are 100% waterproof. We recommend avoiding direct contact with heat for these garments. This will cause the seams to separate from the main body of the garment and the garment will become unusable.
EXAMPLES OF DIRECT HEAT ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Placing garments on radiators
Drying the garment in a tumble dryer
Drying the garment on hot water pipes
Placing the garment in front of an open fire
Placing the garment in front of an electric heater or radiator
The tumble dryer
We recommend allowing these garments to air dry.
