Since the early 19th century, cotton moleskin has been the fabric of choice for manufacturers of hardwearing, comfortable and good-looking workwear. It’s no wonder: tightly woven, yet luxuriously soft to the touch, it is extremely durable and wind resistant. Its main downside? Once it gets wet, it loses its insulating properties and takes an age to dry. Ridgeline’s new Moleskin Tech-Knit Supreme, on the other hand, offers all the benefits of cotton moleskin, without the downsides. It’s a knitted fabric that is 47% cotton, as you would expect. The difference? We’ve added 7% Nylon and 46% Polyester, giving a generous 380g/m² weight. Compared to ordinary cotton moleskin it’s tougher, faster drying, more wind resistant and, for an equivalent weight, significantly warmer. In short, it’s much better. And by a long way.
